In Loving Memory of Mona Lise Prevost
With profound sorrow, we announce the unexpected passing of Mona Lise Prevost on February 10, 2025, at Health Sciences North in Sudbury, Ontario, at the age of 61.
Born on December 1, 1963, in Sudbury, Mona was lovingly adopted and raised by Paul-Émile and Henriette Prévost, becoming a cherished member of the Prévost family. Later in life, she was reunited with her biological family and embraced by the Lamothe family, She was deeply loved by both families and will always be remembered for the joy, warmth, and love she brought to those around her.
Mona was a devoted mother whose love for her daughter knew no bounds. She put Tasha above all else, always ensuring her happiness and well-being. She adored being a Mimi and treasured every moment with her beloved granddaughter, Riya—affectionately calling her “Dolly.” Her laughter was contagious, her love infinite, and her strength an unwavering guide for all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her daughter, Tasha Devost; her granddaughter, Riya; and her siblings, Paulo Prévost, Daniel Prévost, Francine Martin, Linda Simpson, Andre (Andy) Lamothe and Gaetan (Gazoo) Lamothe (Michelle). She was also a beloved Mimi to Ashten Prévost and a dear aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Mona is now reunited with her parents; Paul-Émile and Henriette Prévost (Beaulieu); her brother, Richard Prévost; and her biological parents, Roméo Lamothe and Rachel Lavallée.
A celebration of Mona’s life will be held in the spring/summer, with details to be shared on social media. Those without social media can contact Tasha for more information.
Though the world is a little less bright without her, her light lives on in those she loved. In the garden of memories, we will always find her.
