Saunders, Bruce (Wallace)

In loving memory of Bruce (Wallace) Saunders, 78 years, who passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 5th, 2025, at Health Sciences North with loving family at his side. Bruce was the beloved husband of Ida Saunders for 52 years. Survived by his six children Thane Fletcher (Storm), Angela Mumford, Micah Fletcher (Charlene), Melinda Fletcher, Selena Fletcher (Peter), Dara Saunders (Paul), his eleven grandchildren, Shawna, Brittany, Kelly, David, Liam, Julia, Madison, Amos, Keira, Amber, Kayla, and his great-grandchild, Heidi. Predeceased by his parents Malcolm Saunders and Doris Saunders (Parsons), and predeceased by his brother Bernard. Survived by his siblings Tom (Anita predeceased), Joyan, and Malcolm. He is also survived by many cousins.

He was born in Twillingate, NL and moved to Sudbury to begin work at Inco. He met and married the love of his life, Ida, in 1973. Bruce enjoyed nature, woodworking, travelling, and photography but most of all he enjoyed spending time with family. Bruce could always be counted on to help when and where needed.

Unfortunately, Bruce suffered from a hereditary illness that limited his ability to use his body and spent the last 26 years confined to a wheelchair. With Ida by his side, he was still able to enjoy life and make the best of his situation. He is now sleeping, in peace, pain free, and is waiting for his God Jehovah to awaken him from death.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 23rd, 2025, at 4:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3720 Old Hwy 69, Val Caron, ON P3N 1N2. Arrangements entrusted to Ranger’s Cremation and Burial Services Ltd.
