Emerson worked for INCO as a machinist for 33 years. He was an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus Council 7368. He loved the outdoors and was seen by many during his daily long walks through Val Thérèse. He enjoyed bowling and golfing in his younger years. Emerson also had a beautiful talent for wood carving and made many pieces displaying wildlife. The Simpson family would like to thank the nurses and PSW’s on Fourth Floor East wing at Extendicare Falconbridge for all their care and support that was given to Emerson. He was a devoted Roman Catholic parishioner for years at St. Kevin’s Parish. At Emerson’s request there will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Kevin’s Church, 4610 St. Thérèse St., Hanmer, on Wednesday November 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. Private interment for family members will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the PET scan and the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated.
