It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jozsef Szalay with Ruth and Tim by his side in the home he built in Val Caron, Ontario in his 84th year.
Dear father to Ruth (Tim), David (Brenda), Sylvia (Jim) and grandfather to Brielle, Allison, Abigail, and Annabelle.
Predeceased by his parents Jozsef and Margaret Szalay and his brother Geza all from Hungary.
Born in Rabatamasi, Hungary, Jozsef immigrated to Canada as a young man. He came to Canada with nothing but a shirt on his back and was willing to offer the shirt off his back to those in need. He had a loving heart and a good soul. He built the family home at a young age and remained in the same home for over fifty years. As an INCO retiree he enjoyed construction and always had a project on the go.
A Celebration of Jozsef’s Life will be held at a later date.
Ruthie, David and Sylvia.
My sincere love and prayers go out to your families. May the words found at Job 14:14-15 bring you a measure of comfort at this most difficult time.
14 ” If a man dies, can he live again?
I will wait all the days of my compulsory service
Until my relief comes.
15 You will call, and I will answer you.
You will long for the work of your hands.”
Thankfully the future will provide a time when tears will no longer be shed. (Rev 21:3,4) May this impart you all with a measure of inner peace with the loss of your Apa and Nagyapa.
Love, Gabi,
