Passed away peacefully, Monday, November 14, 2022, at the Espanola Regional Hospital and Health Centre, Espanola, ON at the age of 74 years.
Predeceased by his parents Gilbert and Angeline (nee Gallant) Thibodeau. Beloved husband of Diane (nee Lamothe), we finally made our 50-year milestone November 4, 2022. Loving dad to Melissa (Jeff) and Mike (Natasha). Cherished pépère of Tristan (Renée), Makenzie (Nathaniel), Braden, Daniel, Jessica, Apple and Archer. Dear brother of Doris (late Morley) Thompson and predeceased by the following siblings: Mary (James) Richards, Norm (Dawna) Thibodeau, Arthur (Lois) Thibodeau, Shirley (Ron) Gay, Carmel and Theresa. Dave will be deeply missed by his family from the Northern Life Church in Espanola, his riding friends, and the Legion in Espanola, that he was an actively involved member participating in many events aiding his fellow veterans. Dave had many passions, the Canadian Military being one, he even wrote a book having firsthand experience. He loved his Harley Davidson and all the adventures he and Diane had from across Canada to the United States making many friendships and sharing many journeys. Dave had a large heart and was an all-around great guy, he especially loved his furry friends, Lainey, Gemma and the late Penny Lane. Dave loved music and getting together with family and friends he was quite the social butterfly. Most of all, Dave loved his family and looked forward to spending time as often as he could with them.
The family would like to thank the Northern Cancer Foundation staff especially Dr. Emack and Dr. Pearce, the nursing staff in the Sudbury Area, the Palliative Care Team in Espanola, and the Nurses at the Acute Care Team in Espanola. Thank you for making Dave comfortable and helping our family, your kindness and professionalism will never be forgotten.
If desired, donations in Dave’s memory can be made to the Northern Cancer Foundation and would be appreciated by his family.
At his request, there will be no services or visitation. A Celebration of Dave’s Life will be held at a later date.
Dear Diane, Bob and I are so sorry for your loss. We have very fond memories of meeting you and Dave along with Joe and Margaret on our motorcycles while touring Newfoundland. We treasure those memories and the friendships we made will all of you. Fond memories of fun and laughter and great food, and stumbling along George Street in St. John’s after an amazing night. Rest in Peace Dave. I’m sure you’re keeping the party going up there with your goofy antics and big smile. Ride on Dave!! And to Diane, love and peace to your family during this tough time.
