VanClieaf, Angeline

In Loving Memory of Angeline VanClieaf who passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre on Monday, March 31st, 2025 at the age of 89.

Beloved mother of Christine (John) Rintala, Danny (Marlene) VanClieaf, Robin predeceased (Sandra) VanClieaf, and Darlene VanClieaf. Cherished grandmother of Tammy, Deryl (Carolyn), Corrina (Jason), Bradley (Jill), Matthew (Cassidy), Benjamin, and great-grandmother of Avery, Ashton, Logan, Kai, Aliisa, and Matti.

Born on March 9, 1936 in Sudbury and grew up in Creighton Mine, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anne (nee Tataryn) Marcinishyn. Dearly loved sister of Paul (Liz) Marcinishyn, both predeceased, Helen (Enci) DiFilippo both predeceased, Stanley “Stan” Marcinishyn predeceased, and Carolyn predeceased (Marc) Dumencu. Aunt to several nieces and nephews.

A gifted athlete in her younger years, Angeline excelled at baseball, badminton, bowling, and knew her way around a pool table. She was a naturally talented artist who passed her gift on to her family. Having spent many years in North Vancouver, she was happy to have returned to the Sudbury area to be closer to her family. She was a devoted viewer of The Young and the Restless (always enjoyed with a glass of white wine!).

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care for their care and compassion during her stay.

Respecting Angeline’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A Celebration of Life and interment service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Maison McCulloch Hospice would be appreciated.
